Building Self-Love Habits
I hope the beginning of this new year has brought you joy and abundance so far. I know I’m eager to start this new chapter, and leave some of my old habits behind. But there are some habits that I want to build on this year.
I’ve been journaling (almost) everyday now for over 25 years (with a few years off in the middle), and the habit that I was able to form around this practice has been so supportive. Showing up for myself this way has helped me to heal in countless ways, and it’s because I’ve built consistency around my journaling sessions.
But it hasn’t always felt so easy. Like any kind of practice, I have to keep up with it. That means I have to give this habit attention, almost everyday. Staying consistent with my journaling helped me make it a habit, and today this habit is a part of my life for the long-term.
There are a few ways that I’ve been successful with this consistency:
I write at the same time everyday, in the morning, and I have a place where I do my journaling. – I write whatever I’m able to. Some days I can’t even get a page written. But I still write something. – I use my favorite pen and journal, so that I enjoy the act of writing everyday.

Feel free to share in the Slack group your own self love practices.
