Welcome Chaos
This past week has been a whirlwind, and it really reminded me of something crucial: we’re only in control of ourselves.
Between managing an event that unexpectedly quadrupled in size and dealing with a hurricane, I was reminded that chaos is inevitable. It’s just part of life. But how we react to that chaos? That’s entirely up to us.
Embracing chaos doesn’t mean letting it consume you; it means acknowledging its presence and finding your own way to navigate through it.
You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.
Friedrich Nietzsche
This quote beautifully encapsulates the idea that chaos can be a source of creativity and growth if we learn to harness it.
What To Do
When I start feeling overwhelmed, I do two simple things:
- Acknowledge the chaos and my feelings of overwhelm.
- Ground myself by practicing some form of mindfulness.
It’s that simple. Practicing mindfulness in whatever way works best for me at the moment is easy because I practice every day. By having a unlimited list of possible mindful activities at my fingertips, I always have one that is perfect for the moment.
Remember that our Mindful Life community is always here for a little support too. Whether it’s sharing your experiences or seeking advice, we’re all in this together. Share your thoughts with our private Slack community.
Stay mindful and embrace the chaos,
Much ✨ and ????,
Katharine
