Self Love Challenge – Day 2

Self Love Challenge – Day 2

Sometimes it can feel like we live out our days in our heads. At least that is what I end up doing.

But if you live on auto-pilot throughout the day, without checking in on your body, this can lead to a build up of stress in the body. “Most operate on auto-pilot rather than paying conscious attention to the present moment and your place in it. You get distracted, worry about the future and react automatically to unfolding events, especially when stressed,” writes Jacqueline Ferguson.

That’s why I’m going to invite you to get out of your head and devote more of your attention to your physical and emotional self today.

Wondering how to do that? A body scan meditation, breathwork, mindful journaling—all of these are great ways to pull your attention down into your body, and away from any ruminating thoughts that might haunt you throughout the day. You might notice some discomfort during these practices, however, and that’s okay. I’m sharing a meditation on honoring these painful feelings, to support you today (It’s one I created to support my own emotional healing).

Mindful Journaling Prompt

Where are you feeling the most discomfort right now? (Can be physical or emotional.)

Describe the discomfort, if it’s in a part of your body, or if you can name an emotion, sensation or memory that is attached to it.
